The RF45X is a rudder angle indicator for medium-sized applications.
Mechanically, it is identical to its predecessor, the RF45.
The RF45X can be used to replace the RF45.
Electrically, it outputs a frequency signal (pulse-width modulated) that can be disabled using the J3XX input (AP35/AP50), but it can also output a frequency signal (selectable via internal jumpers) that can be disabled using the AP45 and AP9 Mk3.
The RF45X can also operate on 24 VDC, a useful feature when connecting to a standalone rudder angle indicator.
The unit is mounted close to the rudder and is mechanically connected to the rudder via a 1:1 transmission link.
Operates on 12 and 24 VDC.
