The Icom IC-MA510TR class B AIS transponder comes complete with GPS antenna with 10 meter cable.
Icom IC-MA510TR class B AIS transponder with built-in GPS receiver equipped with SBAS function. Position data is received with the included GPS antenna with 10 meter cable. The MA-510TR can be connected to an NMEA 2000™ network (an external plotter, radar or VHF radio). Using the NMEA 0183/-HS protocol, the transponder can be connected to a transceiver, plotter radar or GPS receiver.
The Target List shows all AIS-equipped ships and targets. The Danger List shows all ships relative to your vessel within six nautical miles of the shortest approach point (CPA) and sixty minutes sailing time to the shortest approach point (TCPA). The list of known vessels (“Friend List”) lists detected AIS targets that have been reported as known.
If a vessel comes within CPA or TCPA range, that vessel's icon will flash and a beep will sound. If an external audio device is connected to the chart table or bridge, the collision alarm will be heard even if one is not near the transponder.
In silent mode, the AIS transmitter is turned off and information about your position is temporarily not transmitted. This function can be useful when, for example, you do not want to reveal your fishing spot to other ships. AIS reports from other vessels are received normally in silent mode.
When the [WPT/MOB] key is held down, the MA-510TR automatically stores a waypoint of the current position of the vessel and activates the MOB (Man Over Board) function which then activates the navigation function to the MOB location.
