Icom IC-SAT100 Satellite Iridium PTT Two-way radio for satellite radio communication. This system provides real-time and worldwide communication with just the push of a button (PTT). The satellites ensure stable communication over very long distances. Even in the event of the most serious disasters on earth, communication remains possible. SATELLITE PTT (Push-To-Talk) is a two-way radio system that uses the Iridium® satellite network. It can be used as a communication tool in remote, isolated areas where there are no mobile telephones and where a fixed network infrastructure is also lacking.
IC-SAT100 users can instantly start talking to all transceivers in the same talkgroup with just a single push of the PTT button. The Iridium® satellite network covers the entire Earth, including both poles, and can provide long-distance communication anywhere in the world*.
Using 66 Iridium® satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), the IC-SAT100 provides fast-response communication and broader, more reliable network coverage than geostationary satellites (GEO).
The Icom IC-SAT100 is dustproof and waterproof to IP67 (1 m depth for 30 minutes), making it ideal for use in harsh outdoor environments. The transceiver also meets MIL-STD 810G specifications. Operating temperatures range from –30°C to +60°C (–22°F to +140°F).
The included BP-300 Li-ion battery pack provides 14.5 hours of operating time.* The IC-SAT100 offers secure conversations with 256-bit AES encryption.
