Any marine growth or contamination on the surface of a transducer can reduce its sensitivity, diminishing bottom echoes and the intensity of fish targets. It can also increase turbulence beneath the transducer's surface, causing aeration and thus loss of bottom contact.
To best address these challenges, Airmar partnered with Propspeed® International to develop Foulfree™ anti-fouling coating for transducers. This patented clearcoat creates a smooth surface that marine growth cannot adhere to, keeping the active face of your transducer clean and clear.
