Yacht Devices NMEA2000 Battery Monitor.
This device reports battery voltage, current, status and charge status to NMEA 2000 and can turn on the generator or alert when battery status is critical. The battery monitor can be configured to use data from an NMEA2000 thermometer connected to the battery to more accurately detect charge status and health. The device configuration can be uploaded from a text configuration file on a MicroSD card. Chemistry, rated capacity and voltage and other parameters can be set, including custom discharge curve.
The battery monitor provides control over the discharge of your batteries, including disabling unnecessary loads in advance and alerting you or your crew when the batteries are low, or even automatically turning on the generator. The unit is designed to work with a standard 75 mV shunt (not included with the unit) with no limits on rated current (shunts in the 5A to 1200A range are available anywhere). Shunts of 50 and 100 mV can also be used with limits in range and accuracy.
The NMEA2000 Battery Monitor is compatible with digital switching and alarm units managed with standard NMEA 2000 PGNs 127501/127502.
The Yacht Devices NMEA2000 Battery Monitor can also be used to provide NMEA 2000 devices, including chartplotters and data recorders, with the actual performance of wind generators, solar panels, alternators and other DC sources or loads (windlass, refrigerators) with operating voltages up to 40V.
The housing of the device is 54 mm long and is equipped with an NMEA 2000 Micro Male or SeaTalk NG connectors. It can be connected directly to the backbone; no NMEA 2000 drop cables are required.
