The Sonim XP8 rugged smartphone is the ideal device for the security sector and for (government) emergency services such as the fire department, police, ambulance personnel, etc.
The Sonim XP8 has a 5-inch screen that can be operated with wet hands and gloves, and the XP8 can withstand the most extreme conditions. Robust performance standards, military 810G, waterproof and non-sparking Class I, II, III, Div 2 ratings ensure that it works even in the most extreme environments. Suppress background noise with loud and clear audio with 100dB+ speakers and supports both traditional and EPTT. It is IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD810G certified. It is no coincidence that it is widely used in America by emergency responders such as firefighters, police, and ambulance crews. The XP8 is one of the few phones that can operate on the dedicated frequency of FirstNet, the emergency services network in the United States built with AT&T.
The Sonim XP8 is an ATEX zone 2/22 certified smartphone. ATEX certified phones are mandatory in areas where there is a risk of explosion. They do not produce heat, sparks or fire and are therefore explosion-proof. There is ATEX certification for zone 1/21 and zone 2/22. Zone 1/21 is an area where the danger of a gas or dust explosion is frequent or occasional (<1000 hours and >100 hours per year). Zone 2/22 is an area where the danger of a gas or dust explosion is low (<10 hours per year). The XP8 can be used safely in zones 2 and 22.
