The Entel CXR5/DT9 is a professional bone conductive skull microphone with integrated earpiece and PTT unit for Entel DT Series radios. This headset is designed for situations where normal microphones and headsets struggle with ambient noise, such as firefighting, industry, offshore, marine safety, petrochemical sites, emergency services and other harsh working environments.
The skull microphone is mounted inside the helmet and must make firm contact with the head. Speech is picked up through bone conduction, making the microphone less affected by loud external sounds. The integrated earpiece provides received audio, while the included PTT-C/DT9 push-to-talk unit is used for transmission.
The CXR5/DT9 is suitable for Entel DT500, DT800 and DT900 Series radios. The headset connects to the PTT via a Nexus connector. According to the Entel user guide, the PTT unit is IP67 submersible and large enough for operation with gloves or under protective clothing.
