The Vetus BISEP19 is designed for situations where bilge water needs to be cleaned of oil and grease before discharge. The separator traps contamination in a replaceable filter element and is intended for installations using 19 mm hose connections. This model is suitable for use with a bilge pump up to 25 litres per minute. The filter element has an absorption capacity of 320 grams of oil, which Vetus states is equal to the average amount of oil found in around 8,000 litres of bilge water. Vetus also states that the system removes up to 95% of oil from bilge water at a maximum contamination level of 300 mg/l.
