The Iridium Beam Active Antenna RST740 is an active Iridium antenna for installations where a standard passive antenna and short cable run are not sufficient. It is designed for land and marine applications where the antenna must be installed at a favourable location, such as on a mast, roof, deck or external antenna position.
The RST740 includes an integrated power amplifier for transmitting signals and a low-noise amplifier for receiving signals. This allows the antenna to be used with longer approved Beam Active Antenna cables. Beam and Iridium state that the antenna works with Beam products and Iridium devices, provided that the correct active antenna cable and power/breakout box are used.
